This was a well-attended show and we were able to engage with adults and children with the safety and health wheel, which is a fun educational opportunity where everyone wins – either as safety reminders or learning something new.  Some of the topics included grain bin safety, ATV safety, cold weather stress and disease prevention. Attendees were especially interested in resources about avian influenza as the disease spreads among poultry across the nation.

This was a new opportunity for UMASH and we were able to reach a large number of farmers and their families that attended from Iowa and Minnesota.  We plan to continue the good work with Extension next year to bring safety and health resources and education to this farm show.
