UMASH’s Director Jeff Bender Receives National Award

During the 2019 American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA) convention, nearly 50 AVMA related groups gathered in Washington, D.C. for lectures, workshops and more. At the annual event, UMASH Director Jeff Bender, DVM, MS DACVPM, was honored with an award recognizing his work.

Dr. Jeff Bender’s new award is quite impressive. On August 4th, the American Association of Food Safety and Public Health Veterinarians designated the UMASH Director as the Public Health Veterinarian of the Year. This annual award identifies veterinarians also serving as public health professionals who have made large strides in the field of public health.
