Pilot Project Program

A primary goal of the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center is to leverage the expertise of the institutions involved and build capacity in the region to address agriculture health and safety concerns. Addressing the ever changing nature of the agriculture workplace and the potential for new threats to worker health and safety requires a critical mass of scientists and public health professionals actively engaged in agriculture health and safety work.

To enhance capacity building, UMASH administers a Pilot Projects Program. The overall goal of the UMASH Pilot Projects Program is to develop new initiatives in agriculture health and safety research through small research grants that address health and safety issues related to agricultural workers and their families in the Upper Midwest region, with a One Health approach by addressing the connections between human, animal, and environmental health.
