National Hog Farmer Encourages Needlestick Prevention

The National Hog Farmer publication reminded hog producers to use sound practices and protocols when vaccinating or administering medications via sharps.  UMASH ‘s educational materials were featured in the article, stating the purpose and need for safe handling of needles before during and after injections.

UMASH has a number of needlestick prevention resources which can help farmers, workers and veterinarians to be safe when using sharps.  Most of these resources are in English and Spanish which include laminated barn posters, fact sheets and videos which explain in greater detail the dangers of the products, proper capping of needles and safe disposal of sharps.

If you would like to order bilingual needlestick poster(s) – please send your name,  street address, city/state/zip  and email address to umash@umn.edu with the quantity (please limit to 5 posters).
