April 2021
The National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Symposium was held virtually via Zoom on April 22, 2021 focusing on the topic of COVID-19 in the Workplace: Creating Safe Workspaces. With over 450 attendees, the event began with six poster presentations followed by a question and answer session. Dr. Mike Osterholm was the keynote presenter and addressed a number of work related concerns, including the highly transmissible variants and the overall impact COVID-19 has had on the workforce. A panel of three experts representing workers from agriculture, health care and retail trade industries discussed measures to keep employees safe in light of health inequities.
UMASH and the Midwest Center for Occupational Safety and Health (MCOSH) co-sponsor the NORA Symposium each spring to bring awareness to the many topics which involve occupational safety and health.
