NFMC 2015 Summer Interns

2015 National Farm Medicine Center InternsKatherine Ziekle and Elizabeth Steiner were 2015 summer interns with the National Farm Medicine Center (NFMC) at Marshfield Clinic through the Occupational Health Internship Program (OHIP), which is a national program that links interns to various organizations working on emerging occupational health and safety issues throughout the U.S.

Katherine and Elizabeth worked on the UMASH Project, Seguridad en Las Lecherias (Safety in Dairies), working to ultimately improve the occupational health and safety of Spanish-speaking immigrant dairy farm workers in Wisconsin.  They visited farms, observed and presented worker safety trainings in Spanish, collected and analyzed farm safety data and created an interactive social service resource guide for farmworkers in English and Spanish.
