Dr. Bruce Alexander, UMASH Center Director, gave a presentation entitled “One Health, Occupational Health, and the Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center” on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. The seminar was hosted by the Division of Environmental Health Sciences and Midwest Center for Occupational Health and Safety (MCOHS).

The seminar provided an overview of the new Upper Midwest Agricultural Safety and Health Center and the One Health Initiative. Dr. Alexander gave an informative summary of the agricultural environment of the country and specifically the Upper Midwest. He discussed how the collaboration of organizations within the UMASH Center will create unique opportunities to address existing and emerging issues in agricultural safety and health. In addition, Dr. Alexander provided an overview of the multidisciplinary projects being conducted by the Center and encouraged future partnerships and collaboration through pilot projects and Center outreach.
