Honoring the Life of Carol Peterson

Honoring the Life of Carol Peterson

All of us at UMASH are deeply saddened to share that our dear friend and colleague, Carol M. Peterson, passed away November 19, 2023.

Carol PetersonCarol had been a significant part of the UMASH Center, joining shortly after the Center was funded in 2011. She served as an outreach and project coordinator, working extensively to be a face and voice of UMASH. She also coordinated a vast number of projects, ranging from research projects, including Promoting Safety and Worker Health for Immigrant Dairy Workers, to engaging with thousands of farmers and colleagues over many years at farm shows, conferences and meetings, field days, and trainings. She was an expert in the field, and built an extensive community in her decades at the University of Minnesota and UMASH.

Carol was a gift to the agricultural health and safety community. Her personable, warm, and thoughtful approach impacted her colleagues and farmers from the moment they met her. She truly cared about the well-being of everyone she met, from brief encounters “in the field” to long time friends and co-workers.
