The NIOSH Western States Division, in conjunction with the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) and the Mountain & Plains Education and Research Center, hosts an annual Western States Occupational Network (WestON) meeting for occupational safety and health colleagues from the Western United States.

Every year WestON convenes to provide an opportunity for Western state and local public health professionals to meet and share ideas on occupational health and safety. This annual event expands upon efforts to build a strong occupational safety and health network in the West. Information on key western worker safety and health issues, available resources, and mechanisms for developing effective state occupational safety and health programs are discussed. Attendees include state epidemiologists, state and local health department officials, statistics coordinators, NIOSH, OSHA, Education and Research Center/Agriculture Center representatives, and others interested in occupational surveillance and occupational safety and health in the Western United States.

The 2016 WestON meeting will be September 29-30, 2016. If you would like more information, please contact Yvonne Boudreau (yboudreau@cdc.gov).
