UMASH researchers presented and engaged with other ag safety professionals at the 2016 ISASH conference in Lexington KY June 26-29, 2016. Megan Roberts, 2014 UMASH pilot project grantee from South Central College, presented the findings of her project “Safety and Health Curriculum Development and Training for Minnesota Agricultural Educators” and received the award for “Best Student Poster.” Kate Barnes, a National Farm Medicine Center and UMASH researcher, gave an oral presentation, “Injury Surveillance in Wisconsin Dairy Farms”. Two research posters, “A health and Safety Training Curriculum for Immigrant Dairy Workers” and “Lessons learned from implementing a Spanish-speaking promotor program in the workplace” were also presented sharing results from the UMASH Seguridad en Las Lecherias: Immigrant Dairy Worker Health and Safety project. UMASH was also acknowledged as a collaborator with the other nine NIOSH-funded US Agricultural Safety and Health Centers on a poster “Does Marketing through Social Media increase Viewership on YouTube?”.
