UMASH Meets Agricultural Workers and Rural Latinos in Saint Peter, MN

UMASH joined the Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services (SMRLS) for a presentation on the Proyecto Para Trabajadores Agrícolas (Agricultural Worker Project or AWP) on Friday, April 20, 2018 in Saint Peter, MN, attended by agricultural workers and the rural Latino community. AWP is an initiative of SMRLS that informs agricultural workers of their legal rights in Minnesota. The event was organized by YWCA-Mankato and SMRLS in collaboration with the Lutheran Church of Saint Peter.

Chela Vazquez spoke of UMASH’s multidisciplinary approach to improve the health and safety of agricultural workers and their families and the resources available to prevent workers’ injuries in the workplace. She also introduced the new project in Minnesota: Promoting Worker Health and Safety for Immigrant Dairy Workers.
