SPOTLIGHT: Take Two – Ag Communications Video Contest for a 2nd year

SPOTLIGHT: Take Two – Ag Communications Video Contest for a 2nd year

MAY 2022

UMASH partnered again with Dr. Troy McKay’s Agricultural Communications Advanced Video class to create public service announcements on a number of topics in agricultural safety and health.  This project was part of the class curriculum, and the videos were entered into a UMASH-sponsored contest.

Many topics were addressed in these videos, including positive animal handling, personal protective equipment, tractor safety, and preventing disease on the farm.  Students may use these videos for a capstone project or to enter into other regional or national contests. For the UMASH contest, health and safety and communications professionals scored each video on how effectively it addressed the topic, the production quality, and how the video may resonate with the audience. Three students were selected as winners, and their videos will be posted on the UMASH YouTube Channel. They received a prize of a bookstore gift card!

All students created fantastic videos, and UMASH thanks the students and Dr. McKay for allowing UMASH to be part of their class to bring attention to farm safety and health.
